Tire Treads, Inc. began business operations in August of 1983. Jimmy Crews had 25 years of experience in the tire industry at the time. He began with the goal of becoming a respected supplier of commercial tire products in West Tennessee and the surrounding area.

Operations began in a rented building on Preston Street in Jackson, Tennessee and business began to grow steadily. In 1992 Tire Treads, Inc. purchased and moved operations to the current 13,000 sq. ft. location at 510 Riverside Drive in Jackson. Soon more space was needed and a 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse was leased nearby. The company has always offered premium new tires from various manufacturers as well as top quality retreading. Since its inception Tire Treads, Inc. has always offered at least two retread systems to better suit the needs of our customers. This experience has led us to our current retread systems which we believe to be the most cutting edge yet cost per mile efficient available. Our traditional flat tread with splice system utilizes premium rubber compounds along with the most modern tread designs at competitive prices. Our new splice free RINGTREAD system offers state of the art technology and no compromise new tire performance and reliability.

In May of 2003, Tire Treads, Inc. was at ground zero of an F-4 tornado that struck Jackson shortly after midnight. The damage was substantial. The leased warehouse was destroyed - its contents scattered and much of it never recovered. Three route trucks sustained heavy damage. The main building lost its roof and doors. All retreading equipment was damaged or wet. Thanks to a loyal customer base who stuck with us during this difficult period, Tire Treads, Inc. has not only survived but flourished. Out of the devastation came the opportunity to rebuild and restructure. We have added all new computerized retreading equipment, additional staff and 2 new 30,000 sq. ft. warehouses.
